Sermon Notes: My new process for Sunday notes

Hey friends! I’m excited to share a peek into my latest guided journal—a revamped sermon notes book that’s totally changing the game for my sermon notes. If you’ve ever felt boxed in by a tiny notebook during a long sermon, this might be just what you need!

What’s New?

I know lots of you love my smaller Sermon Notes journals, but I needed to mix it up, so I changed a few things! Here’s some of the highlights:

  • More Room to Write:
I switched to a larger 8.5 x 11-inch format. No more cramming thoughts into a tiny space—there’s plenty of room for all my insights and doodles, as well as space to add more after the service when I’m reviewing my notes.
  • A Fresh, Organized Layout:
The new design features clear sections for the date, topic, scripture references, and notes. It keeps everything neat and makes it super easy to look back on past sermons.
  • Creative Touches:
I’ve added a few fun elements like varsity-style lettering and decorative sparkles to the cover. Plus, there are blank pages for all those creative doodles and personal reflections that just can’t be forced into a box.

Why I’m Loving This New Version:

With my ADHD, I’m always trying to find a way to straddle the line of “routine” that my brain needs, as well as “new and exciting”– so this new format is a fresh way to capture the parts of the message that matter during services. I’m finding that with more space and a new layout, I’m not just jotting down words; I’m really engaging with the sermon. Since I’m not trying to figure out where to put the extra line or reference, I’m more engaged with the words, rather than a race to keep up with the speaker or pastor.
