Memories as Gifts
With the holidays coming up ( really? How is it November??) many of us are starting to think of gifts to give to the ones we love. Although I hate thinking about Christmas before Thanksgiving (I’m very much a “Buddy the Elf” Christmas lover, but don’t skip Turkey Day!) if I’m creating Christmas gifts (which usually happens) I need to think about (and start!) my gifts EARLY… unless I want to be scrambling on Christmas Eve Eve to finish (spoiler: not fun).
I’ve been convinced that giving the gift of memory keeping or a record of memories is one of the best ways to give a gift that will be appreciated. One of my favorite gifts I’ve ever given anyone was the Safari books I made for my grandmother last Christmas. She still thanks me for those gifts, and they were so much fun to put together. The are meaningful to her because they are her memories. So why not do the same for one of your loved ones this Christmas? Help them document their memories. Although in the blogging “realm” it may feel like everyone is a scrapbooker or memory keeper, many of us have friends and family members who don’t know where to begin and would LOVE a memory keeping gift.
Throughout November and December, I am going to share a few more ideas and projects with you that would be perfect to give as gifts. But remember– get started early! Many photo books and memory keeping projects take more time than you would expect to gather the photos and print the books!
