Create Your Own Smash Books
Hi! This is Allie here to show you how to make your own Smash Book, on the cheap!
Everyone in the scrapbooking world all seem to be a little bit obsessed with SMASH BOOKS. Which, to be fair, is totally ok, because the books are SUPER cool. I, myself, was super obsessed until my mom pointed out that SMASH BOOKS were the exact same thing that I’ve been doing since middle school, with a simple composition notebook! I don’t need a fancy, $15 notebook with pre-designed pages to be able to SMASH! And neither do you!
So how can you make your OWN Smash book?
Start with a simple composition notebook: You can find these all over the place, for super cheap–especially around “back to school” time. Even if the “back to school sales” are over in your area, I’ve found cool composition notebooks for less than $1. Try Walmart, Target, or even drugstores!

Make your cover “pretty.” Or cool, or messy, or whatever you would like! My favorite thing to do is clip images and words from magazines and cover my book with phrases and images that I love. Don’t want to rip up your favorite magazines? Head to your local library’s discard sales, garage sales, or Goodwill!
Embellish the inside pages! Make the pages inside just a pretty as your cover! Use items that are free or that you already have! I love using washi tape, paint samples, magazine clippings, leftover scraps from scrapbooking paper, post it notes… I could go ON and ON! You can do this as you go along, as you fill your book, or do it ahead of time so you have pretty pages to start with!

Fill your Smash Book with everything you love! Your thoughts, cards, images, quotes, lists… HAVE FUN!

Do you have a SMASH book? Have you created your own before?
