December Documentation | The Plan 2014

Alexandra Rae Design December Daily Documentation‘Tis the season of DECEMBER DAILY!

The popular holiday documentation project– the brain child of Ali Edwards– is once again all over the internet!  It’s one of my favorite projects– even if I don’t always “finish” my album.  Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever finished a December album!  Which is why part of my plan this  year includes finishing up my 2013 documentation, along with documenting the holiday season in 2014.

This year, I’ll be continuing my album from last year— since I didn’t finish 2013 documentation, I’ll finish that up, add a divider for 2014, and add our holiday memories from this year in.

While many call this project “December Daily,” I can rarely keep to that sort of ridged schedule. What can I say? I am easily distracted! Instead, I like to pull inspiration and prompts for holiday documentation from a variety of sources… it worked well for me last year (even if I didn’t “finish” it was more because I was Christmas’d out by the end of the day on the 25th… when most of the events and photos happened!), so I thought I would continue it this year as well– especially since there are new “rounds” of the same inspiration sources I used last year!

My Plan for Documenting my December in 2014: Pull from MANY various prompt sources!

I love having a lot of different options of prompts to choose from, so I’m pulling from my favorite December prompt sources!

[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″][/su_column] [su_column size=”1/2″] 30 Days of Lists December Edition: I’m so excited that 30 Days of Lists is back for another December round.  I have a separate section of my binder dedicated to lists from last year and this year– I love the mix of holiday and “regular” prompts.[/su_column] [/su_row]

[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″][/su_column] [su_column size=”1/2″]  Daily Doc December: Megan and I are bringing this prompt book from last year with Document Life Workshop! Combining photo and written prompts, it give you plenty of ideas for documenting December.

About the eBook: Are you ready to document your holidays? The holidays are rich with tradition, magic, and memories in the making. However, they are also the busiest time of the year for some of us, so it can be difficult to capture that magic. Don’t miss out on documenting the special holiday season during the hustle and bustle!

[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″][/su_column] [su_column size=”1/2″] Holiday Focus from Simple Scrapper: Less “prompt based” and more of “keeping me on track with what’s important.” Jennifer created this free event to keep help keep your holiday scrapbooking FOCUSED this year. It has a fantastic community building right now, and I know it’s just going to get better as December goes on! [/su_column] [/su_row]

[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″][/su_column] [su_column size=”1/2″] Journal Your Christmas from Shimelle.  Shimelle has these amazing, long prompts about Christmas present and Christmas pasts. They are amazing to read, and they just make me THINK. I love it. The best thing about this class is that you purchase once, and you’re in every year after, no extra charge.  Actually, the other best thing is the amazing amount of CONTENT… video, photos, words… from year’s past too!  [/su_column] [/su_row]

[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″][/su_column] [su_column size=”1/2″] Currently challenge from RuKristin  Although not a “holiday” challenge, I love adding daily Currently cards to my album to get a capture of  “real life” in December  [/su_column] [/su_row]

So that’s this year’s plan!  As I said before,  I’m using the same album and supplies from last year, since I put myself on a “no new Holiday products” challenge, and heavens knows I have enough!
