Adventures in SMASH-booking

I’ve had a SMASH book laying around for almost 2 years, and I’ve never had the courage to just start filling it.   The other night, I needed a creative “boost,” and so I grabbed my smash book and some washi tape, stamps, and cardstock  and just started.

I’ve since decided that I’ll be using Kam’s Three-Sixty Five journaling prompts to help guide what type of journaling to do, and what to fill the book up with.  The ebook full of prompts has always served as a great “boost” of inspiration, but I’ve never worked through the prompts as a ‘list’ almost, so I’m interested to see where it goes.

While I was on my mission to “smash book more,” I found these really cute post it notes and “flair” at Target, which I thought would be perfect to incorporate. The pie chart reminded me of a prompt in the Big Picture “Grammar Free Journaling” class I took last year (they are actually rerunning it right now— I can’t recommend it enough!)  and so I ran with the idea of “pieces of me” with a visual pie chart.  I’m still thinking through the journaling that will go on the opposite page, but I’ve been loving how quickly these pages come together. The perfectionism that is usually in my scrapbooking doesn’t appear to be in Smashbooking 🙂

Do you use Smashbooks? How do you fill them? Do you use prompts, or just ‘fly by the seat of your pants’?  Leave links to some of your pages– I’d love to see!
